Strategic Plan

Join Our Planning Committee

Fall River Public Schools is committed to fostering an equitable educational environment where every student can thrive. As part of this commitment, the district will be creating a Strategic Plan that will help guide the future of FRPS.

As part of this process, we are forming a Strategic Planning Committee and are seeking participation from diverse voices across our school community. We are looking for parents, caregivers, educators, staff, and community members who are interested in helping shape the future of Fall River Public Schools.

Members will generally meet once a month beginning in June 2026 from 5:30-7:00 pm, at Durfee High School and the first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17th.

There will also be additional opportunities for family, staff, and community participation through upcoming subcommittees and engagement sessions.

If you are interested in participating in any capacity, please complete
this Google Form.

We welcome and encourage participation from voices across our entire community.

Committee Mission
To provide insight and guidance to shape the strategic plan for Fall River Public Schools.
The Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) is a group of invested school and community partners working together to seek community input, process and theme data, identify core beliefs, create a Portrait of a Graduate, and make recommendations for overarching strategic goals and action steps for the Fall River Strategic Plan for the next 3-5 years.
Committee Charge
  1. Analyze community data to identify themes and priorities
  2. Provide context for the data we review based on geography, lived experience, and role in the district
  3. Make recommendations about Fall River’s strategic intentions to the Senior Staff
Membership
We intentionally sought a cross-section of members to form this strategic planning steering committee. Our goal is to ensure representation from staff, students, families, and the community.
Meeting Schedule and Structure
SPC members will participate in one meeting per month from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Meetings will largely be working sessions where we will review and process data, draw on perspectives of SPC members, and plan for continued community engagement in order to refine and develop the broad strategic goals. We will meet from June 2026 through June 2027.  Our first meeting is scheduled for June 17, 2026, from 5:30-7:00 pm at Durfee High School.
Outside of meetings, responsibilities will include:
  • Reviewing materials, data, and information in preparation for meetings
  • Completing surveys or responding to questions virtually
  • Seeking feedback from community members
  • Meeting with sub-committee members (2-3 hours)
In addition, we will ask members of the SPC to volunteer to co-facilitate community conversations and focus groups as this work continues into the fall. We will provide structures, agendas, and facilitation preparation for this piece of the work. The work during the winter/spring will consist of smaller working groups (subcommittees) that will make more detailed action plans based on the broad strategic goals developed by the SPC.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to contribute purposefully to Fall River Public Schools. We understand that this is a significant time commitment so if this is not something you are able to do at this time, there will be other opportunities throughout the year for you to get involved.  We look forward to working together to create a brighter future for all students.
