Fall River Public Schools Launches OpenSciEd Science Curriculum
Fall River Public Schools is excited to launch the highly-rated OpenSciEd curriculum as the core science program for students from kindergarten through high school Biology Physics, and Chemistry. Developed with our students in mind, this innovative program creates meaningful connections across grade levels—starting in kindergarten and building through middle and high school—ensuring that every student has the opportunity to engage deeply with science throughout their educational journey.
OpenSciEd empowers students to explore real-world scientific and technological concepts by investigating questions and solving problems relevant to their daily lives, homes, schools, and communities. By encouraging collaboration, curiosity, and critical thinking, students work together to uncover solutions and develop a strong sense of connection to their neighborhoods and to one another.
This hands-on, student-centered approach positions every learner as a scientist or engineer. Through thoughtful instructional routines and teacher guidance, students ask questions, design investigations, and apply their learning in ways that build a deep, lasting understanding of key science concepts. The curriculum’s design promotes equity, engagement, and creativity—motivating all students to be active members of a scientific learning community.
