Redistricting Information
Over the past several years, Fall River Public Schools has been engaged in a comprehensive redistricting effort. This work began when we reopened Westall as an elementary school two years ago. Since then, our redistricting work has continued, rooted in our commitment to providing all students with equitable access to high‑quality learning environments, appropriate class sizes, and strong connections to their neighborhood schools.
As this work has continued, it has become increasingly important to ensure that enrollment across the district is balanced. Redistricting will allow us to:
-
Reduce class sizes and create more consistent student‑to‑teacher ratios across all elementary and middle schools
-
Strengthen neighborhood school alignment, so more students can attend schools closer to home
-
Improve long‑term planning, ensuring our facilities and staffing are used effectively and sustainably
-
Support smoother transitions for students as they move from elementary to middle school
Because of these necessary adjustments, some students at both the elementary and middle school levels may experience a change in school placement for the 2026-2027 school year. We understand that any change can raise questions, and we are committed to communicating clearly and supporting families throughout this process.
Redistricting letters were sent to families on June 4, 2026, via Secure Documents in ParentSquare. Families requesting to stay at their current school are encouraged to fill out our
