For students new to Fall River Public Schools, please provide proof of residence in the form of a utility bill or a copy of a lease or mortgage for the parent/guardian of the child.

1. Approval of a home-school program must be obtained in advance of the removal of a child /children from public schools and before the commencement of the home-schooling program.

2. Fall River Public Schools will provide the parent/guardian with an opportunity to explain their proposed plan or present witnesses on their behalf.

3. The parent/guardian bears the responsibility of demonstrating that the home school proposal demonstrates that the instruction will be equal in thoroughness and efficiency to that which is made available in Fall River Public Schools.

4. Fall River Public Schools may request standardized testing to determine that the progress made by home-schooled students is equal in thoroughness and efficiency to that in the Fall River Public Schools.

At the close of each school year, please send a letter briefly summarizing your child’s academic progress and your intentions for the following school year.

*If addresses are different, please indicate which parent/guardian has primary custody or, if joint custody, please provide a schedule of parenting time at the end of this application
