CHANGE IS HAPPENING AT WATSON...
Just a reminder...school now begins at 7:55 each day. We have also changed our dismissal time on Wednesday from 2:52 to 1:52. These changes are in effect from now until the end of school. Thank you for your cooperation.
LEARNING IS FUN AT WATSON...
PREPARING FOR OUR WRITING
Grade one students are learning about how to write about an opinion. In order to be successful, they need to support their opinion with evidence. Their topic last week was the weather, more specifically what they liked or disliked about the snow. To gather evidence, they bundled up, grabbed a clipboard and took a learning walk on the school grounds to collect and note the evidence they would later use in their paragraph.
100th Day Celebrations
The 100th day of school is more than just a milestone worth noting. It's the perfect time to have fun with with number 100. Students counted to 100 by 2's, 5's and 10's; practiced their addition skills to create number sentences and word problems using the number 100 and learned to group objects and graph the results. To get into the day's celebrations, they put on their magic hats and glasses!
