WAYS YOU CAN HELP YOUR CHILDREN SUCCEED IN SCHOOL

1. Develop a partnership with your child's teachers and school staff: be sure you come in and meet your child's teacher, attend parent-teacher conferences and keep in touch with your child's teacher.

2. Support your child academically: find your how your child is doing, make sure they get their homework done, and help them prepare for tests.

3. Get involved with your child's school: learn what the school offers, volunteer at the school or join the PTO.

4.Get informed and be an advocate for your child: ask questions, learn about your rights and let the school know your concerns.

5. Support your child's learning at home: demonstrate a positive attitude about education, monitor their TV, video games and internet usage, encourage them to read or read to them, and talk with them about school.

The empty chair is a symbol that stresses the importance of attendance and the fact that a teacher cannot teach an empty chair.  Let's work together to ensure that the children at Watson are in their seat every day!
