WATSON'S COLLEGE WEEK

During the week of June 1st, Watson students engaged in various activities that made them think about their future careers and they discovered what it would take to make those careers a reality.

On Wednesday, we invited 22 folks in to speak about their profession and how they were able to become successful.  All students rotated through eight rooms to listen and learn about their favorite careers.  They prepared questions and then shared out with their classmates after the speaking presentations were over.

On Friday, students were encouraged to come dressed as the career of their choice.  We had 80% of the students participate and they were able to share why they had chosen that particular career and who inspired them. Not surprisingly, many came dressed as the person they heard speak on Wednesday.

The photos say it all...

FUN IN THE SUN ACTIVITIES...IDEAS TO KEEP YOUR CHILD LEARNING

It's almost summer -- that time of year when teachers bid farewell to students, hoping their gleefully escaping charges don't forget everything they've learned during the school year. It's also the time of year when nervous parents take on the challenge of keeping their children physically busy and mentally active during long summer days. Below I've included several links to activities that will help your child explore, learn and play all summer long.
