Theater Company

The Durfee Theatre Company is an extra-curricular activity. Meetings are after school on the first and  third Mondays of the month, generally meeting on stage in the auditorium.

The Theatre Company does function along with the theatre classes offered during the day, but EVERYONE is invited and encouraged to join. (no experience necessary). A typical after school meeting consists of the Company Officers and Mrs. Bigelow planning activities and fund-raising events (to support the school season of performances). Officers run the meeting and organize some theatre activities and games to be played then on the stage, like improvisation skits.

There are sometimes workshops after school as well, in, for instance, stage make-up or improvisation or choreography. Interested students can see Mrs. Bigelow in room 51 or Mr, Bigelow in the Performing Arts Wing at any time of the year.  We hope to see many new students.

The next important event will occur on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 29, 2011 IN ROOM 51. Plans for the annual Drama Competition will begin, as will auditions and rehearsals BEFORE we leave for Christnmas.

Also, plans for an after-school workshop and fund-raising will be discussed, and our spring musical GREASE.
