A note to Students:
It should be noted that the Hardin Tragedy of the Commons article is a difficult (college level) reading that is meant to get students to start to think critically about some difficult issues. Students will likely struggle with the reading at first but the lessons from the reading provide an important basis for many discussions throughout the year. Students should not be scared off by it. When I pass out the packet I usually give a word of warning about it and tell students not to be discouraged if they find themselves reading it several times in order to answer the questions.
