Our school is currently trying to raise money to donate to local animal shelters. Students, parents, staff, and friends may purchase a 6"x6" square to decorate with a heart for $1. Hearts are posted on a school bulletin board when they are received by Ms. Arruda. Our goal is to raise $300 by the end of February. For more information, please contact Ms. Arruda or Mr. Green
From the Nurse’s Office:
With the cold and flu season upon us here are a few reminders from the nurse’s office. Flu-like symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Some people also may have vomiting and diarrhea. People may be infected with the flu, and have respiratory symptoms without a fever.
Please Keep Your Child Home for the following signs or symptoms:
* Fever above 100.0 degrees (until fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications).
*Vomiting and/or Diarrhea.
*A cold with nasal discharge or persistent cough or with complaints of shortness of breath.
*Cough that keeps child up during the night, worsens with activity, or is combined with other symptoms.
Teach Children Healthy Habits:
*Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it. If tissues are not available teach to cough into their sleeve or elbows not into their hands.
*Wash hands often with soap and water.
*Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth, this is how germs are spread.
*Try to avoid close contact with sick people. While sick, limit contact with others as much as possible to keep from infecting them.
