Senior Action Plan

Strive for academic success by maintaining good grades and attendance.

Meet with your guidance counselor for your senior meeting to discuss college and career plans.

Review you transcript with your counselor. Make sure you have returned your transcript release form.

Narrow your list of colleges to between five and ten and review it with your counselor.  Get application and financial aid information from each.

Visit as many colleges as possible.

Register early for the fall SAT Reasoning or ACT test. Plan to take the SAT subject test if appropriate. Send your scores to the colleges you will be applying.

Get started on your applications right away if you plan to apply through an Early Decision or Early Action Program.

Ask for letters of recommendations. Allow at least two weeks (at a minimum) to allow plenty of time to meet your deadlines. Provide a stamped and addressed envelope when appropriate.

Start working on your college essays.  Write essays that focus on your experiences that make you stand out from the crowd.

Create a resume that lists your accomplishments, involvement and work experiences.

Attend Financial Aid Night on December 16, 2010  and at least one College Fairs.

Pay attention to deadlines! Colleges and financial aid do not accept any excuses.

Attend College Goal Sunday on January 30, 2010 at 2pm on Bristol Community College's campus.
