The 2012 Phoenix Nest
“It's best to have failure happen early in life. It wakes up the Phoenix bird in you so you rise from the ashes.”
Anne Baxter
The Phoenix is a symbol of rebirth and the ability to transcend even through ashes, so to say that our literary magazine’s name is appropriate is an understatement. This year has been a challenging year of tradition for the magazine. We started off gangbusters and then slowly but surely the work ethic began to dwindle. The thing about a phoenix is that is will always rise and I am sure that next year will be a year of tremendous growth and positive change. The upcoming junior class is a group with talent and drive that is sure to be complementary to the publication. Miranda, you are the future of this magazine, and I have full faith in your ability and your creativity. Mikayla Leite, this wouldn’t have happened without you, so you have my most sincere thanks. Anyone interested in working on the upcoming edition of the magazine, our meetings take place on the second Thursday of every month in room 383.
