New Schools

Student Transportation

Students in grades K-5 - qualify for transportation if the student
lives 1 or more miles from their neighborhood school.

Students in grades 6-8–qualify for transportation if the student
ives 1.5 or more miles from their neighborhood school.

Students in Special Programs – qualify if the student is
attending a program outside their residential school area.

Student Assignment

Elementary school student assignment letters will be mailed to most parents of  grade K-5 students starting on July 24, 2008. Certain groups of students may receive their assignment a little later as placement guidelines for certain special programs are reviewed. The assignments made may change slightly over the course of the summer based on enrollments in specific classes and programs.

Student Transportation Services

Information regarding transportation services to all students who qualify will be mailed to the families of these students in mid-
August. This information will include bus stop assignments and time-lines.
Students on IEPs may have different transportation requirements which are not addressed by this transportation information. 

The accommodations made for transportation for a student  on an IEP will take precedence.

Closing Day(s) of School

The last day of school for students is Monday, June 26 with the last two days - Friday, June 23 and Monday, June 26 - being half days of school.  

Exception: The Henry Lord Community School had an extra day to makeup due to the failure of a heating unit on December 12.  Therefore, the last day for HLCS students will be Tuesday, June 27Friday, June 23 will be a full day for HLCS students only with Monday, June 26 and Tuesday, June 27 being the school's two half days.
