Letourneau Elementary

GRADE 4 ELA

The fourth-grade students are currently working on a culminating activity for their novel Castle in the Attic.  Students are composing a written essay as well as creating a castle of their own, which they will proudly present to the class.  This novel was chosen to build students’ stamina to proficiently read challenging, complex text.  The genre being fantasy, also presents a challenge to students as they need to monitor their comprehension of two plots – one that takes place in the real world and a second in the world of fantasy.
