- This IS important
Welcome to 7th grade Mathematics at HLMS. As you can imagine, we have a lot of challenging and hard work facing us this year. It is a goal of mine to ensure that we are all life long learners. I hope that the students, guardians and faculty will work hard to accomplish that goal.

By the end of the year students will have completed a variety of work in several books and be competent in the following areas:
- Operations with fractions

35% Benchmarks & Quarterly Exams
30% Quizzes & Projects
10% Binder
10% Homework
15% Selected classwork, quick checks, participation or other assignments

Students are always encouraged to improve their grade by redoing assignments, retaking assessments and extra credit. Please make arrangements with us…remember to complete this before the term closes!!!

Discipline
Each student is asked to follow the Classroom Etiquette as stated above. Although I am sure we will have no problems this year, failure to follow the class etiquette will result in the appropriate disciplinary action; 1) warning/reminder 2) parent/guardian contact 3) parent/guardian/teacher meeting 3) teacher detention 4) referral to the vice principal
Extra Help
Our door is always open …We will be available for extra help by appointment. Students should let us know a day in advance if they will be staying for extra help.
