7th Grade Science

Welcome to 7th Grade Science! In this classroom, you as scientists will investigate many aspects of science. You will approach your scientific exploration from many angles including observing, listening, reading, writing, and experimenting.

Outcomes

At the conclusion of this course, you will be able to:

-         Define and give examples of motion

-         Describe the relationship between speed and slope

-         Represent motion in graphs

-         Identify substances, mixtures and compounds

-         Display a working knowledge of the Elements

-         Identify the different states of matter and its 

   properties

-         Understand the transfer of energy in the different 

   states

-         Understand ancient astronomers’ views of the earth

-         Describe the sun, the earth’s rotation and the motions that produce day and night

-         Explain the different phases and features of the moon

 

Grading Policy

Grading will be separated as follows:

Tests and Projects       30%

Lab/ class work          30%

Quizzes                       20%

Homework                  10%

Participation                10%
