2010 Hip-Hop Club

The Durfee Hip-Hop Club has been in existence since 2002, and fosters multi-cultural collaboration through the medium of music and dancing. The Club has been a place for urban artistic expression and a creative outlet for any member of the student body willing to embrace diversity and build off of one another's unique forms of expression.

Embracing many urban dance styles including breaking, popping, locking, krumping, jerking, funk jazz, and street jazz, it offers members a great chance to bring their own knowledge of dance to share with others and learn styles they may not have been familiar with. Always open to new ideas, Hip-Hop Club members show one another support in and out of the school setting.

The club provides a safe environment for students to be involved in an artistic, athletic activity every Thursday after school from 2:35-4:00. Not a competitive team, the club encourages the idea of team building through dance and rap routines geared toward two major performances: the November pep rally and the fashion show in the second semester.
