Summer Style for a Savvy Shopper

With only 18 days left for seniors, every grade is revving up for their Summer vacation. Even if you’ll be in school almost until July, you still need to be prepared for all the summer fashion and swimwear.

I have been noticing a lot lately that both high waisted pants and shorts are very much in style. Many pairs of shorts this season have lace bottoms, or some accent of lace. They come in a wide variety of colors and even denim! A great place to buy from if you are ballin’ on a budget is Burlington Coat Factory. They have shorts at prices ranging from $5-$10.

Bored of regular flip flops? For the past few seasons, gladiator sandals have been making a comeback. Both high and thigh high gladiators are especially popular. Recently I bought a pair of light brown faux leather high gladiators from a company called Breckelle’s off of Amazon. I paid $50, with $5 shipping and handling.

Junior, Raven San Jorge bought black butterflied high gladiators from a website called urbanog.com, a site that sells custom boots, shoes, and apparel. Her sandals cost $23.40, and most of the shoes on the site range from $7.00 to $50.00.

I have found that I incorporate many jumpers and rompers into both my Spring and Summer fashion. They are comfortable, and very affordable. I bought a tribal pant jumpsuit from Hollister, which is generally $30-$40, for $12.

Recycling clothing is always a great idea for any season. Though it is late to do so, buying summer clothes in the winter or fall can really save students money. Never throw away clothing from last year or prior, because style never dies.
