The Durfee Girls Varsity Soccer Team ended their season on Monday, November 1 with a win at Taunton High School. Taunton came out strong, but their efforts were not enough and the Hilltoppers (6-8-4) won with a final score of 4-0.

The game started reasonably even with Taunton's defense setting constant traps to catch the Toppers’ offense off-sides. However, after ten minutes this backfired when senior tri-captain Brittany Correia put the ball in the back of the net off of a breakaway.

The second half ended with senior tri-captain Danielle Gauvin scoring putting the Toppers ahead 2-0.

As the second half started and after several missed opportunities, senior tri-captain Shana Hilario scored Durfee’s third goal.

The game continued and the Tigers had several chances to put the ball in the net, but instead were consistently stopped by Durfee's strong defense and freshman goalie, Gaelen Riley.

Before the game ended Gauvin managed to put another ball in the back of the net, scoring Durfee's final goal, ending the season on a high note.
