On Saturday, February  26th, Durfee senior Tresley Dupont placed third in shot-put at the Division I All-State Track Meet, throwing 51 feet.

The previous Friday, February 18, Dupont came in first place at the Eastern Massachusetts Division I State Meet, throwing  54 feet and 8 inches. “I was really happy with my throw, but I was disappointed I didn’t get the record,” said Dupont. He was just shy of the school record of 54 feet 9 inches set by Robert Yarbough, which made Yarbough the best shot-putter of 2008.

Dupont transferred to Durfee his junior year making this his second indoor-track season. He ran and threw for the track team during the winter and spring and played football. Dupont, a born leader, was the captain of both the football and track teams.

For his last season of high school track Dupont has big dreams. For his last season, he wants to "flirt with 60 feet!” Dupont exclaimed. With his hopes set high for spring, he hopes to continue his throwing career. “I want to throw shot in college. I definitely don’t want this year to be my last, because it’s only my second.” stated Dupont.

The New England Championship meet on Friday, March, will complete Dupont's 2010-2011 Indoor Track Season.
