On Saturday, January 8, the Diman Bengals hosted the Durfee Hilltoppers at Driscoll Rink for the second time this season between the two cross town rivals. The Hilltoppers fell 2-0 to the Bengals on December 15 and were looking to seek revenge on the Bengals.

The first period was full of energy as the Hilltoppers and Bengals battled it out end to end, shot after shot, both goalies were playing hard, blocking everything that came in their direction. After the first period the score was tied, 0-0. The Bengals broke out in the second period with a late 1-0 lead despite all the penalties called on Durfee. With emotions high in the crowd, Durfee continued to battle hard for the remainder of the period. The Bengals had a 1-0 lead over the Hilltoppers coming into the third.

The Bengals scored their second goal quickly in the third period. Showing signs of losing their second shutout game in a row to the Bengals, the Toppers knew that they had to fight hard to put at least one goal on the scoreboard. Within minutes left in the game, Bobby Carroll scored the lone goal for the Toppers. With less than one minute left on the board, Diman scored their third and final goal of the game. Durfee suffered a defeat to the Bengals losing their second out of three games against the cross town rivals with a final score of 3-1.

On Monday January 10, 2011 the Durfee Varsity hockey team had to forfeit their 6:00pm game against Somerset due to disqualifications. The game will go into the record books as a 1-0 loss for the Toppers.
