On Saturday, October 18th, the Durfee football team was defeated by Big Three rival Brockton High School with a final score of 42-0. Durfee did all they could to hold Brockton scoreless in the opening minutes of the game but, the Boxers were too powerful on the offensive end. After two touchdowns, the second quarter began with the Toppers in a 14-0 deficit. A long pass into the end zone put the Boxers up 21-0 entering the second half. The Toppers came out strong in the begging of the third quarter, but failed to execute offensively. With two more touchdowns in the third quarter, and another in the fourth quarter, the Boxers improved the score to 42-0 with three minutes remaining in the game. The Toppers face Nauset on Friday with hopes of making the state tournament.
