On Tuesday, December 7, the boys' and girls' track teams started off the winter season at Durfee with a relay meet at Wheaton College in Norton, MA. The teams in attendance were Barnstable, Dartmouth, Taunton, Bridgewater-Raynham, and Durfee. No points were kept at the meet because it was a scrimmage, but the Durfee track teams won many of the events.

On the boys' team, Trey Davidson won the shot put event with a throw of 47 ft. The 4x200 team of Enrique Brown, Cameron Sevier, Jeff Daddona, and Fritz Gustave also won their event. Nick Silva, Jordan Dunmore, and Corey Burns all excelled in the high jump, while Sevier, Brown, and Gustave all competed well in the long-jump. Sevier won the long-jump event with a jump of 19 feet, 16 inches.

On the girls' team, Silvia Cabrera, Andrea Dupont, and Amanda Tibourtino placed first in the shot put relay. Nicole Massoud, Jayln Bonanca, Dupont, and Sarah Skillin placed second in the sprint medley event. Massoud, Camila Rodriquez, Skillin, and Bianca Roberts placed second in the 4x400 relay race. Dupont, Bonanca, Jenna Melo, and Shena Butler placed first in the 55 meter shuttle dash event.

Overall, the relay meet was a success for Durfee Track.  "The meet went really well. A lot of newcomers were able to get their feet wet and try out different events," said junior Elisha Griffin.
