May 21, 2012 - Durfee 3, Connolly 0
Due to the weather conditions, the teams played 8 game pro-sets. Durfee had just won its third and deciding point when heavy rains forced the teams to abruptly end the two remaining matches. Winning for Durfee were Jessie Lord (1st singles)  8-1. Megan Rockett (3rd singles) 8-1 and at 2nd doubles was Kaci Furtado and Sopane Khek 8-0. Since the unfinished matches of Jennifer Lord (2nd singles) and the 1st doubles team of Grace Borden and Marlene Costa would not affect the outcome of the team match, it was decided that their matches would not be counted.


May 19, 2012 - Durfee 5, Randolph 0
The girls continued their winning ways with a 5-0 win over Randolph. Jessie Lord (1st singles) won 6-2, 6-0. Jennifer Lord (2nd singles) won 6-1, 6-2. Megan Rockett (3rd singles) completed the singles sweep by winning 6-4, 6-4.

After losing a tough 1st set tie-break 6-7(5), the 1st doubles team of Grace Borden and Marlene Costa did what the whole team has done so often in tight matches this year, they dug deep and made adjustments. With their can-do attitude, they were able to take the next two sets 6-2, 6-4 to win the match. The 2nd doubles team of Kaci Furtado and Sopane Khek improved their record to 14-1 by winning their match 6-0, 6-2.

"With the end of the regular season quickly approaching the team continues to improve and I am trilled with their success thus far," said coach Mr. Gene Polselli.


May 16, 2012 - Durfee 5, New Bedford 0
With New Bedford missing three of its varsity players, Durfee had little trouble sweeping all five matches. Jessie Lord (1st singles) won 6-0, 6-0. Jennifer Lord (2nd singles) won 6-0, 6-1. Megan Rockett (3rd singles) won 6-1, 6-2. Winning at 1st doubles by the scores of 6-1, 6-1 was Grace Borden and Marlene Costa and winning at 2nd doubles was Sopane Khek and Kaci Furtado by the scores of 6-0, 6-0. This is the sixth shut out of the season for the team and with the win, Durfee goes 4-0 in the Big 3 Conference.


May 15, 2012 - Durfee 5, Brockton 0
The team had another outstanding performance by everyone. Due to the threat of rain, the teams played 8 game pro-sets (first to win 8 games by two). Jessie Lord (1st singles) won 8-1. Jennifer Lord (2nd singles) won 8-0. Courtney Bailey (3rd singles) won 8-1. The 1st doubles team of Grace Borden and Marlene Costa won 8-6 and the 2nd doubles team of Kaci Furtado and Sopane Khek won 8-0.

"This was an especially sweet victory today because with this win, the team, now at 10-5, qualifies for post season play," said coach Mr. Gene Polselli. "Additionally, this win win clinches the Big 3 title for the 3rd year in a row. I am extremely pleased with the way the team has performed this season and look forward to finishing the regular season on a winning note as well as going deep into the post season tournament."


May 10, 2012 - Durfee 5, Bridgewater-Raynham 0
Another outstanding performance by the entire team. Jessie Lord (1st singles) won 6-0, 6-4. At 2nd singles was Jennifer Lord who won 6-3, 6-3. Not to be outdone was Courtney Bailey at 3rd singles who won a grueling two hour match 7-5, 7-6(5). The 1st doubles team of Marlene Costa and Grace Borden won 6-3, 6-1 and the 2nd doubles team of Sopane Khek and Kaci Furtado made it a clean sweep 5-0 by winning their match 6-3, 6-2.

"The team is now only one win away from making post season play. The girls are playing their best tennis of the season and I look forward to them continuing their winning ways on Tuesday when they face Brockton," said coach Mr. Gene Polselli.


May 8, 2012 - Durfee 4, Brockton 1
Jessie Long (1st singles) won 6-1, 6-2. Courtney Bailey (3rd singles) won 6-2, 6-2. Both doubles teams won, Grace Borden and Marlene Costa (1st doubles) 6-4, 6-3 and at 2nd doubles, Sopane Khek and Kaci Furtado 6-0, 6-1.


May 7, 2012 - Somerset-Berkley 4, Durfee 1
Durfee's lone point came from the 2nd doubles team of Sopane Khek and Kaci Furtado, who won 6-2, 4-6, 6-1. This brings their record at 2nd doubles to 8-1.


May 4, 2012 - Durfee 3, Dartmouth 2
Another fine outing by the team with Jessie Lord winning at 1st singles 7-5, 6-3. The 1st doubles team of Grace Borden and Marlene Costa won 6-2, 2-6, 6-0 while the 2nd doubles team of Sopane Khek and Kaci Furtado won 6-2, 6-1. Durfee is now 7-4, which equals the number of wins from last season, and it still has 9 matches to play.


April 30, 2012 - Durfee 5, Connolly 0
Another outstanding performance by the team as it posted another 5-0 win, its second in the last 2 matches. Winning at 1st singles was Jessie Lord 3-6, 6-2, 6-0. Jennifer Lord (2nd singles) won 6-0, 6-3. Courtney Bailey (3rd singles) won 6-3, 6-3. The 1st doubles team of Marlene Costa and Grace Borden won 6-1, 6-1 and rounding out the wins for Durfee was the 2nd doubles team of Kaci Furtado and Sopane Khek.

"The hard work that the girls have been putting into their practices has been paying off with strong performances by the entire team," said coach Mr. Gene Polselli. "Our goal for the season was to improve our win/loss record over last year and the team is well on its way to achieving that goal." Durfee is now 5-4.


April 27, 2012 - Durfee 5, Randolph 0
Despite playing in extremely windy conditions the Lady Hilltoppers were able to put together a very convincing win. Jessie Lord (1st singles) won 7-5, 6-0. After trailing in the 1st set 0-5, Jennifer Lord (2nd singles) came back to win the set 7-5. She lost the 2nd set in a tie-break 6-7(4) before winning 10-8 in the super tie-break of the 3rd set to win the match.

Courtney Bailey (3rd singles) won 6-3, 6-4. The 1st doubles team of Grace Borden and Marlene Costa won 6-4, 6-4. Making it a clean sweep for Durfee was the 2nd doubles team of Kaci Furtado and Sopane Khek, who won 6-4, 6-1.


April 25, 2012 - Coyle 3, Durfee 2
Winning for Durfee were Grace Borden and Marlene Costa who won at 1st doubles 6-3, 6-0. While the 2nd doubles team of Sopane Khek and Kaci Furtado won 6-2, 6-2.


April 18, 2012 - Durfee 3, Somerset 2
Winning for Durfee were Jennifer Lord (2nd singles) 6-3, 6-3, Kaci Furtado and Courtney Bailey (2nd doubles) 6-2, 6-0 and with the teams tied at 2-2, Marlene Costa and Sopane Khek (1st doubles) came from behind to clinch the winning point with scores of 4-6, 6-3, 7-6(2).


April 11, 2012 - Durfee 4, Bridgewater-Raynham 1
Jessie Lord (1st singles) won 6-3, 6-2. Jennifer Lord (2nd singles) won 6-1, 6-1. Grace Borden and Marlene Costa (1st doubles) won 6-3, 6-0. Sopane Khek and Kaci Furtado (2nd doubles) won 6-2, 6-1. Megan Rockett (3rd singles) split sets with her opponent 6-7(5), 6-2 before losing in a super tie-break 8-10.

"This was a total team effort with everyone playing their best tennis of the season," said Coach Mr. Gene Polselli.


April 4, 2012 - Taunton 4, Durfee 1
Durfee's lone point came at 2nd doubles where Kaci Furtado and Sopane Khek won 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. The first doubles team of Marlene Costa and Grace Borden lost a close match. After splitting the first two sets, the teams played a 10 pt. tie-break with Taunton squeaking out a 10-8 win.


April 2, 2012 - Durfee 3, Coyle 2
Winning for Durfee was the 1st doubles team of Grace Borden and Marlene Costa by a score of 6-0, 6-1. Also winning was the 2nd doubles team of Kaci Furtado and Sopane Khek with scores of 6-0, 6-0. The teams were tied at 2 points each before Megan Rockett (3rd singles) was able to win the deciding point 6-3, 6-3.
