Lauren Fiola Reaches 1,000 Career Points

The Durfee girls basketball team closed out its regular season with an impressive 70-60 victory over state powerhouse New Bedford. The big Topper win  also featured a momentous occasion for Durfee senior Lauren Fiola, who notched her 1,000th career point during the fourth quarter. She is the third member of her family to accomplish the feat, joining her sister Alex and father Ken, a standout on Durfee's 1977 undefeated state championship team. Lauren came into the contest needing 20 points to reach the milestone and finished with a game-high 24.
