Welcome Back to School
Dear Parents,
Welcome back! We’re happy to have our students
returning to school and offer a special welcome to thenew students entering the schools in our district.
We want your child to be happy and successful in the Fall River Public Schools and we believe that parents play a key role. That role is to continually show interest
in and support for your child. The child who knows that his or her family is interested in
and supports the school program will almost always have fewer problems in school and will
enjoy greater success.
We believe in fair and consistent expectations that
encourage students to be responsible for themselves. At school, we try to create a safe
environment where courtesy and kindness prevail and where there is respect for differences
in other people, customs and cultures.
Please share with your child’s teacher any
information regarding his or her special needs that will help us better serve your family.
We believe that communication among parents, students and teachers is critical in assuring
student success.
Sincerely,
Cynthia Keene
Our Office Goals
As Assistant to the Superintendent of the Fall River Public Schools, I am delighted to have the privilege of serving the students, families, and community of Fall River. This is my 34th year working for Fall River Public Schools, and I have lived in this community since childhood. My goal is to make our schools the best that they can be.
I would like to invite you to take some time to visit one of our schools and learn how we are preparing our students for their future. Learn about the curriculum we teach and see how it prepares our students for successful careers in many fields. But most importantly, observe our teachers and support staff as they treat each child with dignity and respect. These are the life lessons that can only be taught by example.
Our staff is dedicated to making our schools great places to learn, through a focus on building supportive, positive relationships in a culture of academic excellence and high expectations. All of us – including cafeteria workers, custodians, paraprofessionals, security guards, computer technicians, teachers, administrators, office and other staff – are a team focused on helping students learn.
My job is to facilitate successful school experiences for all students, staff, and community members. My hope is that you will contact me if I can be of any assistance in making your experience with the Fall River Public Schools a positive one.
