This week, we will begin reading Coyote School News. This is a realistic fiction story that is set in the Southwest of the United States. Please pay attention to the Family Times sheet that will be sent home on Wednesday, November 16th. This paper includes a summary of the story, as well as the weeks focus skill and vocabulary words.
Social Studies:
In fourth grade, we study the regions of the United States. We have completed our study of the Northeast Region, and we are now exploring the Southeast Region. Students will be able to identify the states and capitals in each region, as well as be able to describe the climate, land, history, and economy of each region.
This year we will be exploring many interesting topics! So far we have explored Rocks and Minerals. We learned about the different types of rocks and how they are formed. We are now beginning our unit on Weather and Climate. Stay tuned for more information!
