Meet the High School Level School Adjustment Counselor!
|Ms. Monteiro graduated in 2005 from Boston College with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Communication. In 2013 she received her Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Bridgewater State University. Ms. Monteiro has 10 years of experience working with adolescents and families who are dealing with mental health issues, domestic violence, poverty, substance abuse, parental abuse or neglect and emotional distress as a result of traumatic exposure. From her past positions as a DCF social worker, service coordinator and clinician, she is very knowledgeable on the resources available in the community to best serve our students.|

Groups Offered by the counselors
- Mindfulness/resilience group: a psychoeducational that provides students with some skills to regulate their emotions effectively. It draws from mindfulness and meditation practices. A unique and different approach to management of emotions.
